How to Use

Dice Probability Basics

A single fair die gives every face the same chance. A D6 has a 1 in 6 chance for each result, while a D20 has a 1 in 20 chance. When you roll multiple dice and add them together, middle totals become more common: with 2d6, a 7 appears much more often than a 2 or 12 because there are more combinations that produce it.

RPG and Board Game Examples

• D&D check: choose D20 and roll once for an attack roll, saving throw or ability check.
• Damage roll: set D6, D8 or D10 and increase the number of dice for spells, weapons or monster attacks.
• Board games: use 2d6 for games that need two six-sided dice.
• Percentile tables: use d100 for loot tables, random encounters and percentile RPG systems.
